    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5RB.2ACE/1162.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Jean, You mentioned that Recktenwald and Derrenbacher were prominent names in Urxeweiler. Have you come across Bruck and Reiss as well? Not familiar with resources available for that area. Can you point me in the right direction? Also, did you try St.Mary's for early German marriages and baptisms? I had no luck. They said it has always been an Irish parish and they had no German records. A long time ago, I read that a german priest would come up to the area to perform sacraments for the German population. Think it was the late 1840's through the 1850's or at least until St Peter's was built. His name was Father Raufeissen - spelling not exact. He may have been Pastor of St Peter's for awhile. Since he performed the sacraments while assigned at another parish, the records would be at his home parish. Problem is I couldn't figure out where that was. He may have kept the register himself. Can't imagine what happened to it. Let me know if you have found a source for the early German RC records for Rondout and Kingston.
