    1. Margaret Terwilliger and William Cooley
    2. I'm searching for any information on a Margaret? Terwilliger who married William Cooley around 1867 probably in Newburgh. Wow! I sure sound confident, LOL. This is my Mother's maternal side of her family and she did help me some back when she was 87 years old but now at age 93 things are getting real fuzzy for her. What I do know for sure is that Sarah Cooley married Charles T. Montfort in 1867 in Newburgh, NY. Their oldest daughter, Frances, was my Mother's Mother. My Mother said that the name trilliger or something like that was familiar to her but she couldn't remember why. In the 1860 census I found a Susan Terwilliger, single, 40, and a child Susan A. Cooley, age 7 living together and two dwellings later William Cooley and his wife Margaret about 42, with two daughters age 8 and 3 together. Sooooo, putting 2 and 2 together in my illogical mind I'm guessing Susan and Margaret were sisters. What is even more of a frog strangler is that in the 1850 census for Ulster county there is a Catherine Terwilliger 62, listed as head of a household of two children, Margaret 22and Hannah 24, then there is a Jesse Terwilliger listed below them, farmer. Jesse is 4 years younger than Catherine. Of course there are Terwilligers scattered throughout the census pages for Ulster County, and for that fact Orange County. Does anybody have any idea what was going on with that family and is anybody related? Bob Sanders
