    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5RB.2ACE/1307.1 Message Board Post: Tuthilltown was a small settlement at the crossroads of the Albany Post Road and what is now Route 44/55. The name still stands for a general location but the town no longer exists. The area can be found as part of the present day Town of Gardiner just north of the present boundary of the Town of Shawangunk. Some local websites that may help are the Gardiner Town Library (www.rcls.org/gar/index.html) and the Haviland Heidgard Historical Collection of the Elting Memorial Library in the neighboring town of New Paltz. (http://elting.newpaltz.lib.ny.us/) The Haviland Historical has 2 researchers on staff with extensive knowledge of their local areas.
