To those on the list who have been trying to research interment records of St. Anne's Sawkill Cemetery in Kingston, I have sad news to report. I'm reliably informed that all of the original interment records were stolen around 1942-1943, and have never been returned. The original Cemetery plot map was either taken or destroyed in the late 1950s. This is terrible news not only for myself, but for all of the researchers of St. Anne's who so earnestly communicated through this list. As for myself, it's very discouraging to have the nearly ten years of family research that led me to St Anne's suddenly end without resolution.. I'm also informed that a new map was constructed from the few graves that were marked, family deeds, and receipts; but barring the return of the original documents, those graves that are unmarked are probably lost forever. Why would anyone want to steal such documents? Ray Cassidy
