    2. Greetings Ulster County List: Here is an obituary from the Kripple Bush (Kripplebush) Methodist Church records compiled in the late 1800s, early 1900s. Syntha/Cynthia LADENBERGH, Kripple Bush Methodist Church Records, Book 3, Page 34 pasted copy of Obituary, Death date: January 28, 1892. (I also posted her husband's obituary today.) "Kripple Bush: Syntha LADENBERGH, wife of James M. SCHOONMAKER, died on Thursday afternoon, January 28th, aged some over 71 years. She had been an invalid for a number of years, and had long been confined to her house. She was a member of the Methodist church in this village. The deceased leaves one daughter, Maria, wife of James H. SMITH, and two sons, John J. of New Jersey and Moses W. of New Paltz. Three daughters of the deceased are dead –Nelly E., died Nov. 25, 1859 and is buried in the old graveyard of the Methodist church; Phebe Ann, who married Andrew VAN DEMARK, died August 11, 1871, and Sarah Jane who married Alexander KEATOR, died April 14, 1874. Both of the last named daughters are buried in the Fairview Cemetery at Pine Bush. The funeral of Mrs. SCHOONMAKER was held in the Methodist church in this village on Sunday afternoon at two o’clock, Rev. Isaac T. Stafford officiating. The services were very impressive. John J. OSTERHOUDT, William BEATTY, Jacob H. SMITH, Hiram D. WOOD, Jacob D. J. ROOSA and Solomon SMITH were the pall-bearers. The remains were buried in the Fairview Cemetery at Pine Bush.” Cemetery Notes: the “old graveyard of the Methodist church is also known as the “Smith Ground” and is found on page 83 and 84 of Poucher & Terwilliger’s “ Old Gravestones of Ulster County”. It is located on White Lands Road in Kripplebush and has recently been cleared and made relatively accessible. The Fairview Cemetery at Pine Bush is on Pine Bush Road, a few miles north of the hamlet of Kripplebush, not to be confused with Pine Bush in Orange County, NY.
