    1. [NY-ULSTER] birth & death certicate

    3. Where/how do I get a copy of a birth and/or death certificate for someone who was born in 1880 and died in 1958. Also, I only know the years of birth and death (they are on his headstone) I do not know the month or year. Will this prevent me from being able to access the information? Also, does anyone know how long funeral homes keep information on file? The funeral parlor which buried him is still open. Thank you in advance for any help, thoughts and suggestions. ======== :) Kim _________________________________________________________________ Valentine’s Day -- Shop for gifts that spell L-O-V-E at MSN Shopping http://shopping.msn.com/content/shp/?ctId=8323,ptnrid=37,ptnrdata=24095&tcode=wlmtagline

    3. NYS started civil registration of birth and death records in late 1880s and it took a few years to all the counties/cities to fully conform to the new law. You can obtain certificates from the city/town clerk where the person was born, married and/or died or you can get one through NYS Health Dept at: http://www.health.state.ny.us/vital_records/ -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
