New to list. I see that Wallkill, Montgomery, New Windsor, et al. can be listed in Ulster County as well as Orange County. I'm surprised that both were orignal counties, but it looks like boundaries between the two could have shifted a time or two. Here is my story: I'm particularly interested in proving the parentages of a Joseph Conklin and his wife Jennett Monell. I found them (without Jennett's last name) at the Brick Presbyterian Church in NYC between 1811 and 1814. Then I found them earlier with Jennett's last name in 1804 at First Presbyterian in NYC, from which Brick had split off in 1809. Jennett, I believe, is the daughter of Lt. James Monell and Sarah Janet Graham, since Jennett had a daughter, Adeline Conklin, baptized the same day at First Presbyterian as her probable sister, Elizabeth Monell Morris (wife of Robert Morris, and known daughter of James and Sarah) had their own daughter, Sarah Ann Morris, baptized (7 Dec 1804). The Monells are a family from Wallkill and New Windsor, Orange [or Ulster], NY. There is also a Halsey name which gets passed on down through the generations and I believe it comes from Joseph Conklin's side as there are a couple Conklin-Halsey marriages on the books in this era. I would also like to find the parentage for Sarah Janet Graham. James Monell and his brother Robert fought alongside an Andrew Graham with soldiers of Wallkill's Hanover Precinct during the Revolutionary War. So maybe Sarah is a sister to Andrew and John (and William?), who were sons of Robert and Antie Graham of Shawangunk?? So: James Monell, abt 1743/52, Wallkill, m. Sarah Janet Graham, abt 1751, of New Windsor (James' parents were George Monell and Jeanet Wherry; you'll see the Jennett pattern) Children: Charles Monell, 1775, of New Windsor, m.
