Carol Church Hello Carol and All, I have just resumed transcribing records of the Kripple Bush Methodist Church and I'm happy to say there are many CHAMBERS found throughout them. So far I have not found a Talbott but I'll keep an eye out for that name. Here is what I found so far on Jacob: Marriage: Jacob CHAMBERS to Mary HASBROUCK on the 15th day of April, 1800, performed by Rev. Stephen Goetchius I do not know where this wedding actually took place -- probably in someone's home -- because the actual church was not built until 1857. The records I am transcribing consist of 4 ledger books, compiled in the late 1800s, early 1900s. Much of the information is handwritten by a wonderful gentleman named Elmer WILKLOW. He also pasted various newspaper clippings, including lots of valuable obituraries, into the books. I'll be posting more tidbits shortly, Marilyn Marilyn Hough Stern KrippleBush, NY mhoughstern@aol.com ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

In New Marlborough, Ulster Co. NY, Philip Ayres was the eldest male of the 4 Ayres/Airs/Ayers families in the 1790 Census. Does anyone know the relationship of the four male heads of families namely: Phillip, Phillip, Thomas & John? Do any of them have a son George b 1784 who married Margaret b NY cir 1790. Margaret was a young bride for her daughter Katherine was b 1807. George & Margaret were in Delaware Co. OH, Marlborough Twp in 1820. George was possibly in the War of 1812 in Abner Ayres Company. She was born in 1783. I've seen references to Phillip as well as Andrew in various histories of Ulster and New Paltz. In searching for the Burgesses, who came from the Oblong area of Dutchess county (Conn and Sandwich, Mass before that), the Airs name has popped up in some lists of tenants, I think. I just haven't focus on them yet. David moved to Huron County, Ohio, in the 1850s. (Abigail seems to have died, but I can't find information about her death.) I happen to be going there this weekend to do a bit of research. Write me off the list, and we'll see if there is something I can look for while in Ohio. I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as the "ISHULTZ Girls"; Libbie, Amelia, and Katie. The photograph was taken at the Davis Studio in Ellenville, New York, likely sometime in the 1890's with all three girls appearing to be in their teens at the time it was taken. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or if you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
I found a James DICKINSON, on Ancestry.com, who enlisted in New York, 1860, this could be a match for my James P. Dickinson who was born in 1820. I have heard stories that someone in this family was in the Civil War but not sure who. Is there any information about NY units online? He was born in Ulster Co., NY and moved to Dutchess Co. later so he could have enlisted in either county, although he married in Poughkeepsie in Dutchess Co. in 1841, I can't find him in the 1850 census so not sure where he was living. "My Dickinson's that I have listed are as follows:" "Charles b 1665 no wife listed" "Charles b. 1692 son of above m. Mary Winterton" "Phillipe b. 1716 d. 1791 dau of Charles m. Jeremiah Jenks s/o Jonathan and Mary Jenks" "jeremiah b. 1754 d. 136 son of Phillipe m. Susannah Matteson he was born R.I. then died Beyerville NY" "Vicki in WNY" That is further back then I have gotten with James P. Dickinson who was born in 1820 in Ulster Co. New York, I will save your info & as I get back further in time I may be able to make some connections. Thanks, Carol L. Heap, FL "You live as long as you are remembered"

My Dickinson related Jenks seem to be from R.I., Vt. and Beyerville, NY. I'm not sure where Beyerville is, I haven't looked it up as yet and since I"m on my laptop right now, I haven't access to my map collection to see. Some of the Jenks line ended up in Steuben Co NY. My Gggrandfather Charles Dickinson Jenks lived in Wayland, Steuben Co. NY with my Gggrandmother Louisa Hammond Jenks. Charles' son Charles Edward served in the Civil War and died in 1889 and he was married to Cary Ferris Jenks and they also lived in Wayland. I am hoping that one of the local genealogy or historical societies have created books from the newspaper announcements of deaths & marriages + births. Does anyone know where I can purchase these? I am interested in the 1790-1860 time period. I have a man "James P DICKINSON" who is supposed to have been born in Ulster 1820, then he lived and died across the river in Poughkeepsie. Trying to find his parents. Any suggestions? Any local history books available that could help in my research? I know that the Dutchess Co. Historical Society has several of these books and I have purchased 2 of them, they are a big help. Thanks, Carol L.
