-- [ From: Richard Frisbie * EMC.Ver #2.5.02 ] -- Dear Michelle The Ulster Genie Soc only meets once a month and this is their reorganizational month - not that you would have received a response sooner at a different time - but you might have. And very likely it would be from the very capable Audrey Klinkenberg, or someone similiar. Audrey's, and other researcher's, contact info are online in the Ulster GenWeb page www.hopefarm.com/geneatop.htm There is also a page called "Flotsam & Jetsam" with various bits and pieces of contributed genealogy and offers of look-ups which may be of interest to some. You are all invited to look around. Richard -------- REPLY, Original message follows -------- <snip> contact Audrey Klinkenberg at klinkenb@ulster.net . Hello all, In response to the many requests to provide additional New York Militia rolls (and please remember that these are partial lists only) I will post a series of e-mails with each regiment that I have on file. These lists are muster rolls only (showing the individuals who participated) and have been taken from many different sources over the past year or so. I have no additional information on individuals, officers, or regiments so please do not request information about an individual soldier. However, those interested in the Rose surname are welcome to inquire and I will share what information that I have. Bevier's Battalion and the 83rd (Gurnee's) Regiment originated in Shandaken Township (of Ulster County), Hardenburgh's Regiment was filled by men living in Hardenburgh Township (Ulster County), while Benedict's Regiment was from Cattaraugus County. Thanks for your interest, Bill Rose Vista, CA.
My 3 gGrandfather, John M. Bush, his wife and some children were supposedly buried at Burhan's Cemetery in Flatbush. Is there an index for that cemetery or someplace I could write for info? Also, the name could be BRUSH and that would be a revelation to the rest of us Bushes! Jan Bush Weaver weafam@inet-1.com
Bill: Would you by chance know where "Swift's" NY Militia was raised? Hope FL ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
Hi. Does anyone have any information at all about the Duane family who lived in Kingston in the mid 1700's that they would be interested in sharing? Any little tidbit at all would be helpful! Debbie
Have you contacted the DAR in DC. They might be able to shed some light on the outfit you are questioning. Hi Betti, I have a history of the 120th Regiment NYS Volunters, with rosters, by C. Van Santvoord, that I got from Hope Farm Press. I see a Mortimer VAN ETTEN in Co. B, but he is the only VAN ETTEN I can find. Are you sure it is the 120th, not perhaps the 20th?? Or was there another 120th from Ulster? Btw, there is a John A. EVERY in Co. D.
