    1. Ulster Co Clerk comes thru!
    2. Mary F Hayden
    3. After a long search for naturalization papers for an ancestor, I finally reached someone very helpful at the Ulster County Clerk's office (914-340-3288) and lo! he actually found naturalization papers from the 1850s for me! While the county of origin in Ireland wasn't on them, the fact that he found these papers at all is a miracle. Moral of the story: Never give up! Mary in MD

Also may have the name CAMPBELL somewhere in there, but am beginning to wonder if this wasn't a major transcription error in the ol' family Bible. Will exchange. Please help! Thanks. Beth

He served in the Revolutionary War out of Fishkill, Dutchess Co., NY. He married in 1780 Mercy (Marcy, Mary?) Brown in Fishkill. They had two sons, Jacob (1784) and Archelaus (Archibald) l786. Four daughters were born later, Peggy (Langton), Sarah (Scott), Clarissa (Upright) and Catherine (Crawford). Archelaus (Archibald), my 3rd great-grandfather, married Catherin Mack in l8l6. I hope some of this sounds familiar to someone. Thanks, Pat Tenney

    1. BRADNERs and VAILs; mid 1700s; Minisink, Orange Co.
    2. Hi Phoebe--I think we've corresponded before so please forgive me if I've already asked you this: have you found any BRADNERs and/or VAILs that appear to be "related"? I am looking for a connection between those two families somewhere probably in the mid- 1700s, in Orange Co. I have a 2nd great-grandfather named Benoni BRADNER VAIL born in Minisink, Orange Co. in 1801. His parents were John VAIL and Keturah DUNNING VAIL. So far I've not been able to find a BRADNER anywhere that is related to a VAIL that would cause Benoni to have Bradner as a middle name! This remains one of my genealogical mysteries!
