    1. Need someone to print a book
    2. C Raymond LaFever
    3. Hello folks. Irene Barnhart, a distant cousin from Lew Beach, is looking for someone to print a history book she and another person are publishing about the Beaverkill. She'd like to do it in hard cover. It's a large book, 500+ pages. It's basically camera ready. If anyone knows a reliable printer they could recommend, please call Irene directly at (914) 439-4827 (sorry, I'm going to be away over the next few days and have no way to get information to her and she's not on e-mail, yet). Let her know you heard about her quest through the listserv. Thank you. 1. Kniffen
    2. Lisa
    3. Please Help! I'm new to the list, and am desparate to break down my brick wall! I am looking for the parents of Keturah and Daniel Kniffen. Keturah's obit states she was born in Greene Co. aprox 1840. Her first child was born in 47. She married Christian Cline of Walton, NY. After he died she married Leroy Stewart. I don't know if Daniel was older than younger. One of his descendants tells me that family lore says he left NY to avoid a scuffle with the law. He headed out west and joined up with Buffalo Bill Cody, possibly in his wild west show. Keturah and Daniel were at least part Native American, either Tuscarora or Mohawk. Daniel returned to NY and died, somewhere in 1923. Any help at all would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Lisa B IBSSG

    1. city directory
    2. Elise Brenner
    3. Hello, I am on a search as many other people are. I had a census copy from 1900 showing my g-grandparents, Francis and Clara McNicholas lived in Troy, NY with their 5 children. I just found out that they are not listed in the 1910 City directory. The only thing I can remember vaguely is that I heard that my grandmother had lived in Saugerties, her name was Sarah McNicholas (on her baptismal certificate it says McNichols but the gravestone on my g-grandfather's grave says McNicholas). Is there anybody on this list that can give me any information on this family? Did Saugerties have a city directory? I now live in Alabama and it is really hard trying to get any information down here. Too bad I didn't start this when I lived up in NJ. Thank you, Elise

    3. One good place to go is the Elting Library in New Paltz. They have a pretty good genealogy resource room downstairs. Depending on what you're looking for, you may also want to check out the Orange County Genealogical Society Research Room. They have pretty extensive Ulster Co. holdings as well. 3. I may be visiting in the area this summer. Are there any libraries that carry a wide range of geneology books like the Geneological Society in Hurley does? Are there any church buildings from the 1700's still standing that would be worth a visit? I do plan to visit a few cemeteries. Thanks. Phyllis
