    2. Hi Jean - There are both Adriance and Van Etten families in The Holland Society of New York. This means that the progenitors arrived in New Amsterdam before 1674 - and the current members are of direct male lineage. 1. Re: Roll Call suggestion
    2. I second the suggestion of adding some timing & location info. The names only listings leave me cold. If someone wants to compile a composite list of these names - that could be of some general interest to occasionally post - but to respond need more specifics. "One man's opinion!" Thanks Frank Sloat

    3. I'm looking for information on Thomas Davenport. He married Jane Kimble (d.1903). I believe they were married in NY (possibly Kingston area) and later moved to Milton/Oak Ridge, NJ. They had 10 children Lucy, Amelia, Mary, Julie, Sarah, Alice, Ophelia, Albert, Lewis, and Willilam. William is my great-grandfather. He was born on February 2, 1864. I have no information on their marriage or who their parents are. I believe both are from the Kingston area though. My father was told as a child that he was related to Capt. Cornelius Davenport. Cornelius is from the Davenport line that originated in England > Barbados > NY > NJ. I have not be able to find the tie in yet. Thanks! Chris Strube

    2. SMITH - I'm trying to link my Theodore Hall Smith, born ca. 1831, to Smiths in Ulster (or Delaware or Greene?) County. He is related, somehow, to the family of Samuel SMITH Jr. and his wife Clarissa GOSSOO of Shandaken (Pine Hill, Big Indian), but he does not appear to be their son. Perhaps a grandson or a nephew or a foundling? Theodore married a VANARSDALE from Bucks Co., PA, as early as 1850 or late as 1855. When Theodore died in Maryland in 1890, Joseph SMITH of Shandaken (son of Samuel and Clarissa) came down to bury him. Why? Who are these people and how are they connected?? Thanks for listening (again!), Marian
