I am interested in information on Bessie Ward b.1896 and Celia Ward b. 1898 or their families if they married. Their father was Warren Ward and their mother was Minnie Rice. The girls were born in the Rosendale area of Ulster County and had several sisters and brothers. I would be most appreciative of any help the list may be able to offer. Thank you. Hi again, Barbara--I spoke to my Dad and he remembers that a lady who lived in Kripplebush, Town of Marbletown, Ulster Co. in the 1940s-1950s was a Hendricks. Her married name was Osterhoudt. Her mother's name was Grace Hendricks, although that would have been her married name. While I was talking to my dad on the phone I had him look in the current phone book and he reported there were several Hendricks listed. Perhaps you can get in touch with some of those people and will find some cousins! Joy wrote: "Am researching the families, HOUGHTALING and EIGHMEY..." Just thought I would let you know that there is an Eighmyville Road, also known as Salisbury Turnpike and Wildey's Corners Road, in Rhinebeck, off Rt. 308 about three miles east of the town center. It is my understanding that it was called Eighmyville because it was once a hamlet, that is, a small cluster of houses considered a community. Sharon Carberry

Seeking information on family and ancestry of Jacob Bodine (Budine), b. abt 1775, Ulster Co., NY; first appears in 1800 census, Marbletown, Ulster Co.; I believe him to be the Jacob Bodine shown in Kingston DRC christening records with wife, Elizabeth Delamater, christening son, Francis, on 20 Apr 1800. Moved by 1810 census to town of Middletown, Delaware Co., NY; d. aft 1860, prob. at Middletown. Known children Moses, Levi, and Thomas. Bodine family of Ulster Co. supposedly French Huguenots. This is not the Jacob Bodine who appears in Orange Co., NY records. There could be some connection to Francis Bodine of Ulster Co., and to the PERSLOW/PARSLOW family of same. Any help appreciated. Looking for information on the two Mather(s), James and Ebenezer, who fought in the Revolutionary War and were listed among the soldiers from Ulster County. Any information would be helpful and much appreciated. Susan <ssauve@ecentral.com> Lakewood, Colo.
My great great grandparents were THOMAS DUNN and MARGARET FINN DUNN Both were born in Ireland (no idea where) came to the Hurley, NY area possibly in the 1840's or early 1850's. They had four children that I know of as follows: Mary Dunn - marries James Carroll. Lived in Hurley for a while and then moved to Troy, NY. Mary dies between 1880 and 1885 most likely in Troy. Michael Dunn - Born January 1861 in Hurley and married Margaret Keely in Oxford, NY. Dies in Norwich, NY on May 21, 1922 Martin Dunn - Born April 5, 1864 in Hurley and married Frances Flannigan in Oxford, NY. Dies in Norwich, NY on May 30, 1927. Katherine Dunn - Born 1860 in Hurley. Never married and died in Troy, NY on March 6, 1934. Katherine is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Kingston and the stone shows her parent's names but they are not buried there with her. It is possible that when Mary Dunn Carroll died (leaving four infant girls) her parents Thomas and Margaret come to Troy. Thomas dies on August 20, 1881 but I have been unable to locate where. He was in Hurley in the 1880 census. Margaret dies on December 12, 1885 in Troy and the newspaper death notice says burial will be in Rondout, NY but I have no idea what cemetery. My unanswered questions on the Dunn's are: 1. Where did Thomas and Margaret come from? 2. Where are they buried and where did Thomas die? 3. Were there other Dunn relatives in Hurley? 4. Michael and Martin were stonecutters in Hurley and had the same occupation in Oxford, NY (near Norwich). Were there Dunn relatives in Oxford that brought the two boys there? 5. Mary Dunn Carroll was in the 1880 census in Troy with her husband James Carrol and four girls. Mary and two of the girls (Margaret Carroll and Catherine Carroll - who were both born in Hurley) disappear from the records and James is remarried around 1885 and has a new family started. So when did Mary, Margaret and Catherine die? I am posting this message to the Dunn, Ulster County and Ireland mailing lists to see if there are any clues out there. Thanks in advance, Bill McGrath Clifton Park, NY
