The name still stands for a general location but the town no longer exists. The area can be found as part of the present day Town of Gardiner just north of the present boundary of the Town of Shawangunk. Some local websites that may help are the Gardiner Town Library (www.rcls.org/gar/index.html) and the Haviland Heidgard Historical Collection of the Elting Memorial Library in the neighboring town of New Paltz. (http://elting.newpaltz.lib.ny.us/) The Haviland Historical has 2 researchers on staff with extensive knowledge of their local areas.

Where and what is the name of this Methodist church in Rondout in 1852? Where can I find a copy of this marriage? Thanks for any help.

We got information and a map indicating the location of the grave sites as well as copies of the old books with burial information, all for a $10 donation. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nozell/GEN-NYS-L/archives/1997/06/0775.html FYI, there is a Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord, MA, as well. I only mention this point in case there might be confusion about the location of burial.

The town of Mamakating is on Sullivan County's border, with Orange County to the south and east and Ulster County to the north.
You should be able to get the death certificate from the NY State Health Department. See the following website: http://www.health.state.ny.us/nysdoh/vr/forms/genealogy.htm Lisa Stitt ----- Original Message ----- From: "Leslie" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2004 7:28 PM Subject: [NYUlster] Can someone do a lookup > I'm looking for a ALBERT SQUIRE b. abt.1810 and SARAH A. Hi Karen, Yes, this cemetery was transcripted by Louise Hasbrouck Zimm in 1948 and includes both the old cemetery in back of the farm and the newer cemetery. Her work is titled "Tongore (Olive Bridge) Gravestones, Town of Olive, Ulster County, New York, With Genealogical Notes". A copy of this transcription can be found at the Ulster County Genealogical Society. A listing of all transcribed cemeteries can be found at the Society web site at http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyucgs (see Research Library).
