Their is bogus information on the net that says Sarah was the daughter of Maria Terwilliger and Cornelius Terwilliger which caused me to think that Sarah was a step-daughter of Solomon. The census of 1850, and valid information says that her parents were Mary Ann Wilklow (63) and Cornelius Terwilliger (65) and they lived not far from David. Sarah must have been a servant as many girls were in that era.

Of course, the Solomon, son of James, would have been older than 60 so I have doubts about it as well.In 1830 their were two Solomon Dunn's in New Paltz , both with more children than just Robert Dunn. As I said in what I sent, Solomon is confusing. This David may have been a son of a younger Solomon Dunn and who knows who his parents were. In 1810, a David Dunn appears living close to James and the same age as the later Solomon in the census. Is his name David Solomon Dunn and he didn't like the name David? In any case, the Census of 1800 for James shows an un-documented male child born between 1785-1790. Regretably, the census info before 1850 is not detailed. The data I have from New Hurley RDC shows both Robert and Joseph with a son Uriah born in 1784. Obviously, Uriah was named after Uriah Drake. Joseph married Mary Wikham. Why would Joseph have named a son Uriah and then his brother, who was next door do so as well? Robert married Sarah Drake. That bothers me and it is confusing and I merely point that out. I have records from Florence Prehn as well and don't know where she obtained the New Hurley records. I will write Florence and ask her.

I have the line from Solomon's son Robert Solomon Dunn, b, 1804...down to current. I will send that to you eventually too. Do you think that the Sara Terwilliger named in the 1850 Census might just be a daughter of Solomon's? Her birth date would be about 1818 and that would fit with some of the other Census' data on Solomon. I know he had 3 sons and several daughters. I have a will from a William Dunn of Saugerites(?) and I thought maybe he was a son of Solomon's. So it might be Robert, William and David? Sandy

The info that was available was copied from the church records by a Kenneth Hasbrouck when he was a young man. I found out that the original records were still in existence. At that time a lady, I cannot remember her first name but her last name was Schoonmaker. She lived in Wallkill, NY. She was the guardian of the records. I went to her house and she showed them to me and checked out the info I had. My info was wrong. She said another mistake by K Hasbrouck. She inferred that he made many of them in copying the NHRD. She has since passed away and I do not have the slightest idea of where the records are at present. Does this help ???? "" I have run into the same problem with Kenneth Hasbrouck in regards to the Freer's. I guess the question is: Did the records you are using come from Kenneth Hasbrouck?

From other research done recently, we are "assuming" from tidbits found here and there, that Martha/Jannet and Daniel? Bradstreet/Broadstreet divorced after having two sons, 1795/1797 and Daniel moved to Ohio where he had one or two more wives and Martha/Jannet re-married to a Mr. Eighmey and possibly? died 1847 in New Paltz... ????

I have seen those records now what is their reference? When I see the reference such as" contributed by a trusted member of the latter day saints" red flags go up. I don't know what the RPDC is. I do know the NHRDC has given bad information , or conflicting information. I have never encountered that with the New Paltz RDC. Usually information I get from one source I collaborate with another source and that is the census usually. For example, one Cornelius Terwilliger, with the same children given, have two different spouses. One spouse in Maria Terwilliger and one is Mary Ann Wiklow. The parents of Cornelius are different as well. What do I believe? I go to the Census of 1850 where I have all the Terwilligers in that census. I find out that a 65 yr. old Cornelius is in their with a 63 yr. old wife Mary Ann. Two of the children he is supposed to have had live with him. At some time in their life both Cornelius and Solomon may have married a Maria (Mary) Terwilliger but see no corroboration.Who knows what happened?

So let's see, we now think that maybe Solomon never married a Mary Terwilliger? I have never found anything other than a record at the LDS sight that mentions this marriage.
