There is a Uriah Quick who married a Mary L. Quick on 23 Dec 1885 in the records of the First Dutch Reformed Church, Rochester, Ulster Co, New York.
I believe this is Rochester Township in Ulster County. Many people confuse this with the city of Rochester. Actually, there is the City of Rochester in Monroe Co. and the Town of Rochester (like a township in other states) in Ulster Co., which can be confusing for people out of the area. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 16, 2004 2:37 PM Subject: [NYUlster] Re: Murder of Uriah Quick > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Quick > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5RB.2ACE/1407.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Rochester is in Monroe County, not Ulster. Raechel, The ones you are looking for are "RUGER" There is another "Byron Rugar" but that is another individual. I'm sending them to you directly, one at a time. No attachements allowed on the list. As I mentioned earlier, it is not surprizing that Carrie is listed as born in Germany in 1900 and NY in 1910. The census records are only as acurate as the census taker and the information given to him. There will be three separate images since the 1900 entry begins at the bottom of one page and ends at the top of the next. These are very large files so unless you are on a high speed access be patient downloading them. It may take some time. Hope this helps, Jim Groat -------------- Raechel Rugar wrote: > > I have had two people send me readings of a 1910 census for Byron > Rugar/Ruger. Thank you for the info. I have had two people send me readings of a 1910 census for Byron Rugar/Ruger. Thank you for the info. However, There is something of a discrepancy between the readings. One person says the last name was Rugar, one Ruger. One has Myrtle and Amy , one has Myttle and Ann. Also looking at a 1900 census reading which says carrie was born in Germany and on of the 1910's says she was born NY her parents were born Germany. The other does not list places of birth. Is it possible for someone to send me a scan of the original census so tha we can decipher this? Plus, I am having to convince someone that these census records do exist. It would help to be able to show the actual census. _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected? I was wondering if anyone on the list is related to the Abraham Decker or William Decker that is in the 1830 Census Plattekill, UC.,NY . What the census say is William Decker 1 -male (under 5) , 1 - male (20/30) , 1- female (under5) , 1 - female ( 20/30) next door Stephen Decker 1-male (40/50) , 1 - female (under 5) , 1 - female ( 20/30) ( my line) next door Abraham Decker 1- male (90/100) , 1- female ( 70/80) I don't see this Abraham Decker in 1840 but, will go recheck .

URL to locate information on the New York Census Lookup List on RootsWeb: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/Census/NY-CENSUS-LOOKUP.html We have some very helpful folks on this list, but that is all they do there, and their volunteers are very good and you will always receive a prompt response. Also, if anyone is interested in a similar list for other states, replace the "NY" with the two letter code for the other state you are interested in, and you will get the information for the list for that state as well. I am descendent of Evert Terwilliger, son of Jan, who married Sara Freer. Of his many children Evert had son Benjamin who married Elsie Freer niece of Sara through her brother Isaac. Elsie and Benjamin had a son Benjamin who married Maria Freer, grandaughter of Isaac Freer, daughter of Sarah (Sartje) Terwilliger and Joseph Freer. Robert Dunn, brother of Solomon married Lucy Freer, the great Grandaughter of Anna Marie Le Roy and Hugo Freer along with Sara and Isaac. Lucy was also the grandaughter of Elizabeth Freer who was another child of Hugo Freer and Anna Maria Le Roy. Of the many children of Anna and Hugo, Isaac, Sara, Elizabeth and Hugo are my direct descendent. The Freer -Terwilliger tradition was ended with Isaac Terwilliger (born 1800) moved around quite a bit, married a Margaret and moved to Wawarsing where one of their sons John married Margaret Machan and had my Great grandfather Isaac. His daughter Effie (born 1895) married William Dunn ! my grandfather. Such is my interest in the Terwilligers.
