Was some one on the list recently looking for info on the Trickey family in New York? I ran across an obituary at the following web site for Roswell P. Trickey (1892-1935) who died in Rochester. http://ancestorsatrest.com/obit_records/trickey-r_obit.shtml If this link doesn't work, get in touch with me off-list and I'll cut, paste, and send it on. I think now the reference I found was to signers of the Articles of association. John, Thomas and William are (all too) common Maine clan names. After this reference, I can't find any of them in Ulster Co. There was a William in Orange. His brother, Jeremiah was a signer of the Articles there. This Ulster William might be the same (William of Orange Co. was born in NJ). Actually, I'm hoping Trickeys here might lead me to the real focus of my search (my GGG, Daniel). All I know of him is that he was born in the US and married a Sarah Arnold. My GG was born in NY, so I know Daniel was there in 1804. I have researched the Trickeys of Orange Co right down to living relatives. As for Ulster Co, there is a likely relationship, but I just started digging into them. Thanks for your help. Let me know if you ever hear of a Daniel Trickey in Ulster. Regards, Al Trickey in Ulster.

I found that useful. The David Dunn, who had Solomon, 60 yrs old, living with him in 1850, did not have a Solomon living with him in 1855. Since the Solomon in the Old Lloyd Cemetery died in 1852 It is likely that the Solomon living with David is one and the same. It was not uncommon for people to lie about their age and Solomon probably did so. I seriously doubt if the tombstone data is incorrect and it is more likley the New Hurley records are incorrect as they were for my ancestor Robert and others.Maria Terwilliger is a mystery , the record is there, but no supporting evidence with it. There are numerous Maria Terwilligers as well.

That is why I suggested checking out the Trickey's in Orange Co which boarders Ulster very near to the Town of Rochester, Ulster Co., NJ. - unless you are positive that your Trickey's are from the City of Rochester, NY. BTW, I did not think you were stupid in any way. Many of the towns had townships with names that are unknown to me. I live in Ulster Co., but don't know everything about it. If you ever need help with info from Ulster - drop me a note. Sharon

Have you checked ancestry, using soundex for Rocco, Mazziotti & Sepolo? I tried it for Ulster County in the 1930 census and found all 3 names in Lloyd. You have just helped me locate Frederick, my elusive great-grandfather. We always thought mid-1920's seemed right, but never able to find a definite date. Never found he and wife Olga in the 1920 census. They just disappeared after 1915 when they lived on Staten Island. I then found Olga, apparently living alone, in the Saugerties phonebook in 1927 and found daughter's death indexed in NYS fiche records. Any additional info from the collection of inscriptions would be so helpful. Thanks again, ~Meg
