June 1850 in New York. The earliest record I have for him is a 1880 census from Ada, Kent, MI, where his wife Amanda Dailey and 2 children David and Julia are listed. Then they move back to New York by 1885 as their next son Francis (Frank) J was born in NY. The family is in Manchester, Ontario, NY, on the 1900 census. On the 1910 census Amanda is a widow and living in Arcadia,Wayne, NY. Daughter Julia m. a Fred Bells by 1900, and daughter Maude married a Nehemiah (Almond) Reynolds between 1907. and 1919. Other children were John Durfee Sherman (our grandfather), Arabelle, Gladys, Lucy, and May. I am posting this on the Tompkins Board because there is a George King (b. 1850), father Frank King, mother Mary etc. listed on the 1860 and 1870 censuses from Ithaca, Tompkins, NY. Can anyone give me more info about this family and whether or not this could be our great grandfather? Any help greatly appreciated!
