My paternal ggggrandfather is Archibald Davenport,c1813. I spend most of yesterday at the History Center of Tompkins Co, and the best I could find about parentage is that Sarah Davenport died 9 August 1848, and left no will. Archibald, her son, was the petitioner. The only evidence I found about Sarah's husband was that she was the widow of Jacob Davenport, and that was just a one liner in some documents I found. I'd be happy to share what info I have, if it helps. Since I live within walking distance of the History Center, I will be spending quite a bit of time there. I have a John Davenport, b 15 Jun 1806 d 18 Nov 1887. He married Christine Snyder, had 11 children. After Christine died, he married the widow Betsy (Jackson?) Hillick. I could find nothing about Archibald except that will and his name in the 1840 and 1850 census reports. His wife, Phebe, with the children, are found in the 1860 census.
