    3. I'll try one more time, (the one I got was nothing but headers) There is the Cortland Standard: http://www.cortlandstandard.net/ Decent paper for a city that size but their website is pathetic. Here are a few more from nearby larger cities that often have news of Cortland and Tompkins counties: Syracuse Post-Standard: http://www.syracuse.com/poststandard/ Rochester Democrat & Chronicle: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage Elmira Star Gazette: http://www.star-gazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin: http://www.pressconnects.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage The Ithaca Journal has a good site but they have completely succumbed to corporate greed as far as obituaries go. Not only do they charge the bereaved outlandish fees to print an obituary, they expect you to pay Legacy.com to read anything more than a year old. Have you tried your local library site? If it's fairly well wired they may have some good databases, eg Newsbank, online.
