I have a Candace Hathaway, b. 1800, Conn., married to Levi Clark, b. abt. 1798-99, Conn. Candace's father, Ebenezar Hathaway of CT was in Cayuga Co., NY when he died abt. 1844, according to FHL records. Also listed in South Hill Cemetery is William E. Clark, son of Levi & Candace Clark, died Apr 9, 1832, age 2 y 5 m. From this and other information including 1850 census, I'm guessing Levi & Candace had children: Elizabeth, b. 1826, Erastas, b. 1829, and William, b. 1830. Then, if this is my Candace, she died in 1834, and Levi married Sarah. Children of Levi & Sarah, born in Tompkins Co., included: Emeline, b.1839, Frances, b.1841, Candace, b.1845, Alma(h), b.1848, Henry, b.1850. By 1860 census, Levi & Sarah, their children and granddaughter, Mary Carver, are in Portville, Cattaraugus Co,, NY,! and I beileve Sarah A. died in 1869 and is buried in Mount View Cemetery. My line is Levi & Candace's daughter, Elizabeth, who married Leonard Carver, and then Elizabeth & Leonard's daughter, Mary Carver. I have other information I would be glad to share, and I would very much appreciate anything else anyone may have on this family.
