Harry was the father of 2 daughters - Dorothy Williams, born approx. 1915 & Isabelle Williams, dates unknown. The 1930 US Federal Census shows Harry Williams as married, however there is no wife living with him. His daughter Dorothy Williams is living with him. They lived at 214 Linn Street, Ithaca acc. to that census. His father, William W. Wiliams had paid for his burial plot. A volunteer did try to search for his obituary but couldn't find anything. Any leads on the wife's name or information about his daughters would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your message. I had prepared a message to send to several counties' message boards and spent three hours yesterday trying to do exactly as you suggested, but for some reason both SSDI and Rootsweb require a username which I don't have. The confirmation message I received when I registered mentions no username and I have tried everything I can imagine. My nametag won't work either. I can edit old post-its to SSDI, so I know my password is valid, but neither will allow me to post new messages. A site search for the term "username" also comes up empty. So there is no help on the "Password and Username" page. Have e-mailed the Help Desk but received no reply. Any ideas, short of subscribing to each mail list? Thanks. Sally Dykeman, 1st wife of Henry Yaple, they had 5 children of which only 3 are listed in the book. The children are: Harriet Yaple b: 10 Aug 1819, married a Mr. Norton of Illinois. (Sarah)Eliza Yaple b: 22 Feb 1823 married Caleb Earl of Ithaca (book said they had no children). Perry (Piersy) Yaple b: 9 March 1825 in Ithaca, married Martha Maria Burley 25 Sept. 1862 in Pacheco, Contra Costa, Calif. I have 3 children listed for Perry and Martha. Henry Yaple, Sally's husband was the 5th child of Jacob Yaple and Maria Dumond. He was born 28 Aug. 1791 and died 21 Aug. 1863. Jacob Yaple was one of the founders of Ithaca, NY and fought in the American Revolution. The book lists Henry as the first white child born at Ithaca, NY. Though some will dispute that. Jacob lost his land in Ithaca to some shady tax or land dealings and then moved his family to Danby, NY. Henry's brother Peter is my Ancestor. Jacob, Peter, Henry and wives are buried in Kings Cemetery, located on Stone Quarry Road in Ithaca, NY. I have seen a picture of Henry and his wives tombstones on line, but for some reason they are not listed on the list I have of people buried in King's Cemetery. Henry's 2nd wife's name is Mary S. Burgess her name and dates are easy to make out on the tombstone. You can read Henry's name, but can't make much else out from the picture and you really can't see anything on the third stone. They are all placed together in cement flat on the ground. If you have further questions on the Yaple family I might be able to help. I registered and changed my e-mail address last November -- after a break of several years. Has this new policy gone into effect since November? By the way, I did find a cemetery listing for Harry and Bertha on the Broward County Genealogical Society site. They're buried in the Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery, Block 10, Circle 3. - Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
