Sally Dykeman, 1st wife of Henry Yaple, they had 5 children of which only 3 are listed in the book. The children are: Harriet Yaple b: 10 Aug 1819, married a Mr. Norton of Illinois. (Sarah)Eliza Yaple b: 22 Feb 1823 married Caleb Earl of Ithaca (book said they had no children). Perry (Piersy) Yaple b: 9 March 1825 in Ithaca, married Martha Maria Burley 25 Sept. 1862 in Pacheco, Contra Costa, Calif. I have 3 children listed for Perry and Martha. Henry Yaple, Sally's husband was the 5th child of Jacob Yaple and Maria Dumond. He was born 28 Aug. 1791 and died 21 Aug. 1863. Jacob Yaple was one of the founders of Ithaca, NY and fought in the American Revolution. The book lists Henry as the first white child born at Ithaca, NY. Though some will dispute that. Jacob lost his land in Ithaca to some shady tax or land dealings and then moved his family to Danby, NY. Henry's brother Peter is my Ancestor. Jacob, Peter, Henry and wives are buried in Kings Cemetery, located on Stone Quarry Road in Ithaca, NY. I have seen a picture of Henry and his wives tombstones on line, but for some reason they are not listed on the list I have of people buried in King's Cemetery. Henry's 2nd wife's name is Mary S. Burgess her name and dates are easy to make out on the tombstone. You can read Henry's name, but can't make much else out from the picture and you really can't see anything on the third stone. They are all placed together in cement flat on the ground. If you have further questions on the Yaple family I might be able to help.
