There is no 1855 NYS census for Tompkins county. I have done a lot of research and I know that this is true. The Town of Hector however is found in Schuyler County for 1855. They do have the 1865 NYS census at the County Clerks office in Ithaca for Tompkins County. Marsha E. A good way to find out which NYS census might exist for all counties is to go to www.unyg.com, click on "NY COUNTIES & CENSUS." The ones that do exist can usually be located at the county clerks office, or seen on film at the NYS Library or ordered at any LDS FHC. Dick Hillenbrand On 8/15/07, Marsha E.
