I wonder if you might have anything on the Ellis family? My ancestor is Eli Ellis b about 1817 NY and married Sophia Fenner. In the 1850 census they resided in Tompkins Co so I thought perhaps he was the son of one of the Ellis families of Tompkins County but have not been able to make that connection yet. Thanks so much.
