Unspecific queries get bypassed by busy researchers and lessen potential contacts. Which is the main purpose of submitting a query. A much better way to get someone to look at a query is to make it specific. Such as... "Searching, William Agustus ALLEN Family, Ulysses, Tompkins, 1850-1880s"... or similar. Now we know immediately names, locations, and dates, without opening the query and possibly wasting time. BTW. I am researching this family. Along with Amy Cobb, William Hall, Nellie Beardsley, and Angelina Talmadge. All of whom married into the Allen family in Ulysses and the surrounding area.
