Treman State Park near Ithaca, New York. For years, we have been trying to find a photograph of a 19th Century hotel in the park in a former agricultural services hamlet known as Enfield Falls. An archeology class from Cornell University has unearthed the hotel's foundation, along with the foundations of several other buildings in the hamlet, but we still have no picture of the hotel, which we'd like to use in interpretive signage, publications, and in a video we are producing. Please forward this message to anyone, including appropriate listserves, you can think of who might have a lead to finding a picture of this building, including any picture that might include it in the scene. We are also interested in finding other photographs of this former hamlet. Somewhere in an attic, or in the files of an historic society, or??? Think outside of the frame. An image of this could be in another state, or in some national archive or in some database somewhere. Thanks, Tony Ingraham 607-275-0344 owlgorge@earthlink.net We know that an image did exist. It was the first in the "Enfield Series" of "Imperial Stereographs of Cayuga Lake Scenery" by G. F. Gates of Watkins Glen, NY.
