    3. Hi Joan, I can't help you with the NY State Census info, but I checked the 1910 Federal Census. In a page dated 5&6 May 1910, David (age 60) and Nora (age 44) SWARTZ with children Emily (age 19), William (age 15), Dorcas (age 10), Herman (age 9), and Marjory (age 7) were enumerated in Hector Twp, Potter, PA (ED 119 page 8A, stamped page number 287). They were also enumerated in Hector Twp in the 1900 Census (ED 112 page 12A, stamped 208, enumerated 27 June 1900). They were indexed as SWARTY. Bill Hart Subject: 1915-1925 census From: Joan Meddaugh <lpmj@juno.com> Date: Fri, 28 Apr 2006 18:56:27 -0400 To: NYTOMPKI-L@rootsweb.com Would someone that has access to the Tompkins Co. NY 1915- 1925 census for the Trumansburg/Ulysses area of NY be willing to do a check for me? I am hoping by checking in the 1915 census to find a Nora Schwartz, her daughter's Ella Dorcas and Marjorie. Ella Dorcas, ( she would have gone by her middle name of Dorcas) would have been either 15 or 16 years of age depending on when the census for that year was taken. Marjorie would have been age 6 or 7. I am also looking and hoping to find if a Mary Swartz Ellsworth and husband Roy W. Ellsworth were in the area during that time. I can place them in T-burg in 1920 as working in a candy store that he either owned or was manager of but don't know if they were there previous to that or after that in 1925. I know that Mary was in Niagara Falls in 1930 and was listed as a widow. Her mother Nora by then was also a widow and living in Niagara Falls. I know for certain that Nora and Dorcas and Marjorie were in the Ulysses-T-burg area in 1917 because their sister Emily came for a visit and that is where she died of meningitis. I am hoping to trace Nora and her daughters from Ulysses, PA to Ulysses, NY and then to Candor. I have filled in the years from 1920 to 1925 as being in Candor but not sure when they came there from the Ulysses, NY area. I would also like to know where to go an look for property information? I am hoping to find information that would tell me if and when Mary's brother Jim Swartz bought property for his mother Nora there in the area of Ulysses/T-burg. I was told that he had brought property there so she could have a small business to keep her afloat. If no evidence is found in the 1915 census for Nora and her girls would someone be willing to check the 1910 census for that same area to see if they were there then? I am also wondering if there is a city or town directory for Ulysses/ T-burg areas. Perhaps that might be of help to me as well. Sure would appreciate any help someone can give me. Joan
