In Paris, Lamar, TX there is a Evergreen Cemetery that has a "famous" grave marker. We viewed it over the 4th of July and since he was born in this county I thought I would post it. You can view the marker at findagrave . com . The marker is very large and is of a cross with Jesus holding onto it and it looks like he has cowboy boots on if you look closely at the bottom of the robe. VERY unusual marker from that date and time from the ones I have seen. Willet BABCOCK born 6 OCT 1828 in Ithaca, Tompkins Co., NY died 27 AUG 1881 in Paris, Lamar, TX His marker is located on the front and his wife's marker is on the back of the statue marker. All info mentioned is on the marker. Belinda BABCOCK born 14 FEB 1824 in Hamilton Co., OH died 25 MAY 1909 in Paris, Lamar Co., TX Hope this helps some researchers.
