Besides Mrs. Whipple he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George Swan, of South street, and Mrs. Frank I. Lattimer, of New York, and one brother, Edmund C. Whipple, of Denver, Colorado. He was first engaged in farming, then in mercantile pursuits, for 11 years in the mail service of the United States and for the same period keeper in Auburn prison. For the past five years he has not been engaged in active business and for three years has been in decling health. He was a member of St. Paul's lodge, F. and A. M., of this city and of the First Baptist church, and in both of there organizations was beloved and respected as a true worker in the faith.
