I am researching the numerous Thomas families who settled in Tompkins County. My particular interest is Benjamin Thomas, who came to Dryden around 1834 from Dutchess County or New York City. His son, Henry D. Thomas, born 1836 in Dryden, is my great-grandfather. I'm trying to see if there is any connection between this family and the family of another Benjamin Thomas of Groton. There was also another Thomas family originally from New Jersey that settled in Dryden, but I don't think there is a connection with my family. Is anyone researching these families? Some of the surnames connected are: BOICE, WINFIELD, WATTLES, WRIGHT, HOLLISTER. Thanks for any suggestions. Ann Lounsbery Owens, Seattle
