    1. [NYTOMPKI] Early records
    2. I was reading an earlier post that spoke to marriage records. My challenge is trying to find any kind of records - marriage, birth, death, etc. - around 1800-1825 in what is now Tompkins Co. The family I'm researching lived on the line between Lansing and Groton and recorded deeds in Lansing section 74 and Groton section 81. Needless to say, some of the deeds were recorded in Cayuga Co., some in Onondaga Co., and some in Tompkins Co., as township and county lines changed hands. One of the family is buried in Asbury Cemetery up on Triphammer Rd., and a couple of others in East Lansing Cemetery. Any ideas where I might look? Thanks, Jocye

    3. Joyce, I also have family that lived near the Groton/Lansing line in section 91, the Barber Carpenter family. Their grandson, James Thomas Drake was reportedly born at Asbury in 1829. I too would be interested in knowing where I might find records from that area and time. So far I have found nothing that was pertinent.
