My father, his 1st son, also Louis Arthur Havens. Louis Sr, died in 1939, when I was 4 years old. Another of his sons was named Bertrand. I was born in NY, NY. Louis Sr worked for the State of New York but other than that I have very little information, although I do remember my father telling me about his uncle who conducted the Sousa band. I understood that he had changed his last name to Howard. I would love to learn more about my roots.

    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I’ve “rescued” a group of family photographs all related to the DIX – BOSS – BERRY Families of New York State.  The photographs included in this group are as follows: • Aunt Minnie DIX, taken at the Gifford Studio in Forestville, NY, 1880’s, woman in her 40’s, note “she and Mother were like sisters, she was Uncle Edwin DIX wife” • Uncle Edwin DIX, no studio or location, 1860’s, man in his 20’s or 30’s, appears someone originally identified him as “Jim DIX” and then someone wrote “NO” • Addia DIX BOSS, no studio or location, 1860’s, woman in her 50’s or 60’s, note “Aunty Dee” and “My Father’s Sister” • Aunt Sophy DIX BERRY, taken at the A. 2. I have Dora B Hummer Rumsey Harris who is linked with Raymond Lanning. I have no proof of a marriage. This was between 1903 (her 2nd marriage) and 1912 (her third marriage) The birth record of Edna Lanning Oct 6, 1908 at Enfield (b rec 1:385a) says mother was Dora Rumsey age 34, born NJ and Raymond Lanning, age 19. 3. Regarding the Jacob and Emily(Rumsey)Eaton family. The first daughter was Melvina b.Feb 1862 and married Eben G. Fay in 1880. George Frederick Eaton was born April 1863. Kate "Kittie" L. Eaton was born Dec 1870 and married Douglas Denmark about 1894. I don't have a Nina Lorraine Eaton but Melvina and Eben Fay had a daughter Nina b.June 1888 who died in 1926 and was married to Unknown Ballman.
