Hi list, I recently tried to obtain the death record for my great-great grandfather who died January 4-5, 1884. I sent the request to the Tioga county clerk who forwarded it to the Owego town clerk. He wrote me that he could not find the record. My question is, do death records in Tioga County go back that far? And if so, is there some other place I could check for this record? Also, my g-g-grandfather had moved to Owego just 2-3 months before he died, but previously his residence had been Candor for many, many years. Should I perhaps contact the Candor town clerk as there was no record in Owego? Any suggestions welcome. Thank you. Juliann
