The name of the Daly that I have been researching is "Hathaway" Daly. I suspect that his full name may have been John or James Hathaway Daly. I found him on the 1830 Census in Ulster, Bradford Co, PA and then on the 1840 Census in Tioga Co, NY -- Richford. Both years, the spelling of his last name was given as "Daily". This "HATHAWAY DALY" was born in 1791 or 1792 in New York, his wife's name was Susan M. and she was born about 1795 in Vermont per census records. I suspect that the name of "Hathaway" may have been a maiden name of a grandmother.--It is used several times in later generations as a middle name. It appears that Hathaway Daly was born in NY -- family "source" says they came from "White Plains" New York. He moved into Bradford Co, PA where he is in 1830 -- then shows in Richfield, Tioga Co, NY in 1840. By 1850, he and several of his children have moved to Kalamazoo County, Michigan where he and wife both died. Known children of Hathaway Daly and wife Susan are: Jeremiah P. Daly -- Born c1818-1819 in New York Cynthia Daly - born c1820 in Pennsylvania and married a "May" James Warren Daly - born c1822-1823 in PA - Married a Charlotte and lived in Kalamazoo Co - then moved to Crawford Co, Kansas. Charlotte L. Daly - born 1830 - PA - died 1862 in Kalamazoo, married Almiron (Myron) Seelye John Hathaway Daly - born 1836 - PA - married Clara Hill and lived/died in Kalamazoo .
