Caroline was formed from Spencer 1811 ,transferred to Tompkins Co in 1822. Speedsville is in Town of Caroline.In French's Historical Gazetteer of NY c 1860 Hiram Humphrey is listed in Monroe Co before 1839 in the pub of Rochester Daily Advertiser & Telegraph.
