----- Hello there I bought a file of documents on ebay a while ago which has a lot of Josiah Crane information. The reason I purchased the documents was because they held information about Deacon Israel Smith and the Hathaway family. I am a relative of the Deacon and my husband is related to the Hathaways. It turns out that it is the wrong Hathaway family. Here is a sampling of the Josiah Crane information most of the documents are written in the old brown ink . My guess is they were compiled in about 1880? The most interesting is a handwritten application for the DAR. "Hereby applies for membership in the Society by Right of Lineal decent in the following line from JOSIAH CRANE who was born in New Jersey on the 25th day of June 1745 and died in Middletown,NY on the 14 day of July 1822. and who served in the war of the Revolution. I am not sure when this document was written but you could look for a daughter of Joseph Tillman to get an idea. I will post this now and look for more items in the forlder that might be of interest to you . Linda
