Re posting ref Babcock Hollow. I'm not sure where Babcock Hollow itself is or, more likely was, since it is not on the map. There is, however, Cortland County Rte 131 which runs from Frank's Corners, a few miles southwest of Virgil NY, in a generally southerly direction across the Town of Harford to a junction with NY State Rte 221, a few miles northeast of Harford and Harford Mills which are just north of the Tioga County line. This county road is labelled as Babcock Hollow Road. I has been several years since I traveled it and I can't recall whether there is any sign of a hamlet along the way - it could be that Babcock Hollow is merely the name for that rather narrow valley.
