I have the military file for my gg Grandfather, Chancy/Channy Perry. He served in 137th Regiment, Co. I, New York Volunteers, from August of 1862 until he was wounded at the battle of Wauhatchee (Tennessee) on October 29, 1863. He later died of his injuries while completing the paperwork for a pension. He died on 1 January 1867 in New York, possibly in Candor or Caroline, Tioga or Tompkins County. To date, I have found no burial site. His wife and two children had been sent ahead to Iowa to claim land in Wright County. The Pension File is quite complete and has wonderful documentation on marriage, children, etc. However, I cannot locate any records of where Chancy was buried. He is not listed as a Civil War Veteren in any of the Tioga or Tompkins County records that I have located. Any suggestions for assistance??? Thanks! Alice Brook Nevada
