Wheaton who married Catherine Ferris and daughter Lelah Wheaton who married Richard J. Horton. These folks were born in Steuben County, NY and migrated to TIOGA COUNTY, NY. I need a burial place for all of them and death dates. They resided in the town of Nichols, Tioga Co, NY. I visited Lelah Horton's home with my grandmother back in the 1950's when she was getting family info from Lelah. I was only about age 10 at the time. Thanks for just anything known or found of this family.

NY Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NY/Tioga/10267 Surname: BERRY, ELLIOTT ------------------------- Im searching for information about the family of John S. and Elizabeth ELLIOTT Berry. The Berry family came from Guildhall, Vermont and migrated through central New York, eventually settling in Berrytown, Bradford, Pennsylvania. I believe they stayed for a spell in Tioga County, New York. John S. BERRY born 04 April 1772 Oakham, Worcester, Massachusetts and died about 1841 in Berrytown, Bradford, Pennsylvania. John married Elizabeth ELLIOTT 1798 in Guildhall, Essex, Vermont. Elizabeth born 10 September 1778 in Vermont, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (LNU) Elliott and died 15 April 1876 in Orleans, Ionia, Michigan. The children of John and Elizabeth ELLIOTT Berry are named James P., Alvin, Esther, Benjamin, John S., Eliza, Luther M., Joseph, Lydia, Amanda and Clara. Some of their children may have married and remained in Tioga County, NY; their son, Benjamin, reportedly resided near Richford, Tioga, NY. Any information on the descendants of John and Elizabeth ELLIOTT Berry would be very much appreciated.

Hi, Is there anyone who could get me a State 1855 census page? I received one some time back, it is just like a post card, not the full page. Hi Delores, Thank you so much for providing me with some "much needed" information on the Burton family. I found your last e-mail to be particularly interesting! You mentioned that Hiram and Oliver are connected to Nathan and Nancy Burton. Do you know how? My guess is that there is some connection here. After 1860, Nathan and Nancy moved to Boone Co., Illinois. There is a Hiram Burton also living near them in Boone Co. (information obtained from the 1860 and 1870 census). Do you think it is possible that Nathan and Hiram were brothers or maybe cousins? Thanks again for your help - it is much appreciated! Lynn > Tioga Co was formed c 1791 from Montgomery Co.
