Hi All, Can you help??? This is a test to see if you can come up with a name for this cemetery and if you know where a listing might still be in existence. When you get to the top of Ketchumville hill there will be an old cemetery on your right. At the bottom you will see a house on your right with a garage beside it almost on the road. this is where my aunt Caroline Thompson lives. Go on up the next hill and down the other side you will see a trailer on your left and below that a white house. The white house is the Old Lincoln Place where I was born and raised. This house is on a cellar that contains the head stones from the grave yard.they were used for walk stones. The trailer above the house going back toward ketchumville sits on top of the grave yard, with most of the graves under and behind it they people buried there died of typhoid, diptheria, scarlet fever, small pox and other highly communicable deceases Aunt Caroline was married to my uncle Paul Thompson and since he died she stays home most of the time Her address is 672 s. ketchumville rd My dads name was Neal A Thompson Sir and the property was deaded through family from Charles Thompson to Clarence Thompson to Neal Thompson. I believe before Chrales Thompson had it it was in the name of Byrd Freeman not sure tho do know that the deed had that section listed as a cemetery and was to be used for that purpose only we did cut the hay and had some apple trees on it. Her father's name was Walter John Fisher. His Father was John A. (?) Fisher. John is best known in my family as the first paid fire chief of Ithaca Fire Dept. (He died after only 1 year in office.) My mother said that she is distantly related to Marvin Fisher, the president of Tioga Savings Bank. (presently?) John Fisher is buried in the cementery on Rt13 across from the Vet Firemens Building, near the Wonderland Hotel. My mother also said that land was granted to the Fisher family for service in the Revolutionary War. But according to preliminary searches, Fisher Settlement was started by some Fishers from Albany, N.Y. around 1810. Are we connected? Please point me in the right direction. I also know that John's mother's maiden name may have been Walsh. She came from Ireland. I always thought that Fisher was English/Welch. Also, is there any connection to the German Fishers who settled in Spencer? Thank! -you very much. I look forward to recieving any information. :)

----- Hello there I bought a file of documents on ebay a while ago which has a lot of Josiah Crane information. The reason I purchased the documents was because they held information about Deacon Israel Smith and the Hathaway family. I am a relative of the Deacon and my husband is related to the Hathaways. It turns out that it is the wrong Hathaway family. Here is a sampling of the Josiah Crane information most of the documents are written in the old brown ink . My guess is they were compiled in about 1880? The most interesting is a handwritten application for the DAR. "Hereby applies for membership in the Society by Right of Lineal decent in the following line from JOSIAH CRANE who was born in New Jersey on the 25th day of June 1745 and died in Middletown,NY on the 14 day of July 1822. and who served in the war of the Revolution. I was born in the town of Chemung in the county of Chemung. State of New York. I am the daughter of Joseph Tillmanand __ __ his wife, and the grand daughter of John Robbins and Elizabeth Crane his wife, and the great granddaughter of Josiah Crane and Abigail Hathaway his wife and he, the said Josiah Crane is the ancestor who assisted in establishing American Independence during the war of the Revolution were as follows: Josiah Crane served as a Lieutenant in Captain Isaac Halseys Company, Eastern Battalion, Morris County New Jersey, Militia, August and September , 1776; also served as Captain of same during the Revolutionary War. The above fact is certified to by the Honorable Wm. S. Stryker Adjutant General of the State of New Jersey, said certificate being the State Seal. The same will be found on page 387 " Jersey Men of the Revolution" by Stryker. According to our family record, Josiah Crane was born in New Jersey June 25 1745 The Presbyterian Church record of Morristown New Jersey gives the following;_ Josiah Crane entered into covenant Nov 4 1764 and married Abigail Hathaway March 28, 1768. In 1784 Captain Josiah Crane moved to a farm near Midletown, Orange County, New York where he died on July 14 1822. The following is a memorandum of the authority for the above statement. Revolutionary Records for New Jersey in possession of the Sons of the American Revolution. "Jersey Men of the Revolution " by Stryker page 387 The Record of the Crane family Presbyterian Church Record of Morristown, New Jersey." I am not sure when this document was written but you could look for a daughter of Joseph Tillman to get an idea. I will post this now and look for more items in the forlder that might be of interest to you . Linda
John, I wrote to the local newspaper, "The Evening Times" Sayre PA to request information about obtaining obituary listing, but no luck.
