    1. [NYTIOGA] Old items from Tioga County on the net for sale.
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3RB.2ACE/380 Message Board Post: Some might want to know there there is an old Bank note and a 1895 Presbyterian church history book on ebay, they have full names listed which really impressed me, I know I do not like to buy books when I don't know if certain family members are in it. They are not my items, but I hate seeing them go to book collectors that will only hoard our valuable family information for themselves. Just type in Tioga NY., don't check the search in titles and descriptions, that brings up too many that don't partain to genealogy. Hope that helps someone, Jamie

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3RB.2ACE/372.3.1 Message Board Post: Thanks so much for the information. The names sound familiar. I can figure out the relationships. I did find Emily with her husband, Alson, in the 1900 Tioga County Census. It said she had 3 children, 3 living, but only Andy and Marguerite were listed with the family. In 1920, I found Emily, a widow, living with Marguerite and her husband Nat Shirley. This will give me some more to go on.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: HILL SHOEMAKER SCHOONMAKER COLYER McKINNEY COOK ABBOT ARGETSINGER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3RB.2ACE/339.2.3 Message Board Post: Hello again, Dolores! I'm interested in parts of your post this follows, re the John HILL 1815 mortgage. Does it show wife's name, perhaps Sarah (COLYER), or describe much of where this John bought? I believe Sarah COLYER HILL will be found to be mother of Sacket - but which John around the area at the time's the trick. I do not know where John Jr nor Sarah are buried. Abial Frye HILL and Rev. War vet Caleb HILL were brothers to a John, sons of John Sr and Polly EASTMAN. The older children were born up at Dutchess County, probably Kingston; the younger (two?) at Ulster (later named Orange) County at Wallkill. Caleb, the eldest brother, probably passed though on his way to Bradford County PA where his youngest was born, enroute to central OH where he settled (probably) bounty lands. I'll be in NY Stalking Dead People the week of 20 May 2002, so zero-ing in on where to look will shortly be very important to know!
