Teri, I'm afraid you're going to be caught in a deluge! And I guess I'm part of it! Nearly every one of my ancestors came to America very early on, and most came to, and stayed in, either New York or New England. One was Archibald ROBERTSON (NYC). His wife Eliza ABRAMSE (NYC); her father, Jacob ABRAMSE (NYC) & wife Rachel (Walker) ABRAMSE (NYC). Antoine L/ESPENARD/LISPENARD (NYC); his wife, Abeltie (LaForge) LISPENARD (NYC); his wife, Elizabeth Huygens (deClein/de Klyne) Their sons and daughters: Magdalene, Anthony, John, Elizabeth, David, Abigail/Abeltie, Maria, Susannah, Leonard, Johannes. ELLATHAN MARSHALL, (Dutchess Co., NY); his wife Ruth (Harris) MARSHALL; her father Joseph HARRIS, DUTCHESS CO. Joseph's wife, Mary (White) HARRIS, parents of Mary WHITE, Abner & Ruth (Brownell) WHITE, all Dutchess Co.; Isaac BALDING/BALDWIN & wife Mary (Simmons) BALDING/BALDWIN. Joel & Elizabeth (Nash) HOSKINS; their dau Mary, wife of Thomas CLEVELAND Thomas HARRIS, (father of above Joseph Harris), Dutchess Co. Lewis BAKER, Greene Co., NY (& Unkn. wife?) Any LOSEE, MERRITT, prob. in Greene, Montgomery, or other county. I think I'd better stop you, before you start throwing things at me! Why not leave this request until the very last, and THEN, IF you have the time, energy, and inclination, look for a few of them. And if the time, energy and inclination are worn out by then, so be it! promise not to cry about it! Thanks a lot for the offer. Of course, I think you must be crazy, but I thank you anyway! Barbara in MO (but originally from NYC)

Good God- I must be going senile! I seem to have misplaced your original request. Can you please resend it? Yes, I have tons of Roosa's, check out cuzzinconnection below. As far as I know, so far, I only have Chaffee on my in-law side. And Linderman, I believe it was you that told me there were/are Linderman's here in Newfield, being one of first early settlers. They intermingled with my Davenport's and Markle's, Ford's, etc. We should get our info together-- it sounds like we might be cuzzins in a few different ways. Well howdy cuzzin....your name is? Did you go to the cuzzinconnection site yet? It's loaded with Roosa's! Maybe I better check my local telephone books. I live in Tompkins Co, NY. I may have cuzzins living right next door for all I know. I'm going to try to see where your Roosa's fit with mine. But first, I must finish up these lookups for all the kind folks out there. Andy- There are over 900 Smith's listed in the index, it gives page numbers which would then tell me where they're from. I will not be able to do this unless you give me a first name. Childrens names are not listed as a name, just a number under a heading like "free white male 16 yrs+". It would be impossible to know where/how to look for your Joel. Good morning all: I've come across something that is just too exciting not to share. I have a book for a limited time, called "Heads of Families At The First Census Of The United States Taken In The Year 1790". I have NEW YORK ONLY. The info it provides is: Head of household, town, county, state, free white males 16 yrs +, free white males under 16 yrs, free white females, all other free persons and unfortunately it lists numbers of slaves. I will do look-ups for the next few days. If you know the first name of the individual you're inquiring about, that would be very helpful as the lists are long. Even the index is too lengthy to post. These books are available to sign out at the Library at Cornell University. I can't find their website, but they do have one. Check google! Good luck in your search..........Teri Davenport Family Site: http://DavenportAncestors.host12.com Davenport Allied Surnames: http://CuzzinConnection.host12.com Dimmett Family Site: http://DougsDen.fabpage.com Dimmett Allied Surnames: http://JustCuzz.fabpage.com Hereditary Study of Alcohol/Drug Addiction & Mental Illness: http://Diagnosed-Dimmett.fabpage.com
