My greatgrandfather and his brother were orphaned in 1854 in Candor twnshp, Tioga Co, NY.. They were eight and ten respectively. They appear in the 1860 census living with a neighbor couple who's family is grown. If the answer to you question gets answered I would be interested too. According to family lore Delos R. Baker and his brother were raised by the Clark family. No relationship is known. Delos names his second son Jerome Clark Baker out of respect for his foster family. Alan Stuart

According to family records there is a Francis Banfield who died in 1861. He had at least two wives, Rachel Lockey Genung and Elisa Cox Van De Vort. The records indicate a third marriage to Mrs. Witmore Barego. I cannot find any record whatsoever of a Witmore Barego. If anyone can help me identify him, I would be very grateful. Dec.26, 1912 in Tioga Co. Village, Oswego, NY, d. April 1987 in Pasco Co. Florida. He had a brother named Howard, another brother, name unknown, who died in a drowning incident, and his father was [we think] also named Howard. Harold's son Robert thinks that Harold's mom's name was Blanch, but is unsure. I would like to find out Harold's parents' names for certain, along with any other information to be found on the family. Harold Charles Dean married Viola Martha Sperbeck on October 04, 1937 in Elmira, NY and had a son, Robert Harold Dean on Feb.25, 1945, and a daughter, Linda Viola Dean on June 3, 1947. He lived in Elmira NY during his high school years, but at some point prior to that the family lived in the Ocala area of Florida, returning to NY later on, date unknown. Harold worked for Bendix Corporation, Eclipse Division both before and after his service in the ARMY, and worked at the Mark Twain Hotel in Elmira as a kitchen helper before he married Viola. Harold was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Elmira, as well as the Moose Lodge. He was a member of the Choir at Presbyterian Church in Elmira until about 1937. Howard Dean worked for Remington Rand Corp. until they closed, moving on from there to work for the State of New York as a Consultant on Safety Issues. He never married and never had children.
