Someone asked about Mericle families either in Tioga Co. or Broome Co. I have limited info on a Marvin Mericle born ca. 1840 NY who was the son of a Peter Mericle b. ca 1808 in NY. Marvin Mericle married Mary Ann Swartwood. I found them on the 1880 census living in Vestal, Broome Co., NY. Marvin age 40, Mary A. age 39, with Peter Mericle 72, Marvin's father. They were the only ones in the 1880 household. I do not know if Marvin Mericle and Mary Ann Swartwood had children or not. I am a SWARTWOOD researcher. -- Helen Graves

Are you able to find anything on my Kinney family living in Tioga Co in 1870's till NOW? Very interested. We are from Thomas T. Kinney married to Charlotte Curtis. Their children are: George Thomas Kinney married to Dora Matilda Edwards Willis C. Kinney not certain to whom he married, perhaps a Baldwin.
