The 1905 extracted census info does not indicate what his job was. The 1912 Brooklyn directory, listed George as a foreman. (The birth certificates of his son George- 13 August 1897 and his daughter, Marguerite 4 September 1899 indicate George was then living in an almshouse. Checked FHL records of Brooklyn almhouse residents 24 February 1888- 27 October 1905 (films 1376274-280)and found no possible Barnes or Barnes variations.)
