The only Altz family in the area at the time was in Jersey City, Hudson County NJ and they had no Amos in the family. They did have a two year old named John, born in NJ and both parents Prussia (Germany), so we have three conflicts: the name, the birthplace and the birthplace of the father. I think there were only three other Altz families in the Country at the time, one in Massachusetts, one in Michigan and one in Illinois, none of whom had a son in the right age bracket.
