Hello. I started researching my husband's family history a couple of years ago and have realized a good measure of success. I've acquired a lot of fascinating facts about his Rhode Island (paternal) family and now I'm concentrating my focus on his mother's side that was from Suffolk Co., NY. My husband is descended from Charles Freemont Foster, son of Edward Henry Foster and Mary Grace Bellows. Charles was born 1860; died 1948. He married Frances "Fanny" Gertrude Thompson, daughter of Samuel Thompson and Mary Victoria Aldrich. Their children were as follows: 1. Gladys Marie Foster -- no further info 2. Clarence Thompson Foster, born 10/16/1880; died 6/2/1902 3. Lewis Huntting Foster, born 2/18/1884; died 3//19/1903 4. Grace Evelyn Foster, born 4/6/1886; died 1965; married Frank Tagnall (or Tagnell) 5. Howard Raymond Foster, born 12/4/1887; died Feb., 1971; buried at Sterling Cem., Greenport, NY; married Bertha Ione Wines, daughter of William B. Wines and Susan Anna Pierce 6. Lila Irene Foster, born 9/9/1890; died 7/11/1936 7. Ella Grace Foster, born 1892 -- no further info 8. Charles Everett Foster, born 4/6/1895; died 2/14/1965. He married Marie Ebenbeck 9. George Washington Foster, born 1/5/1897; died 1/30/1965; married Estelle Blydinburg 10. Janet Foster, born 12/24/1900; died Feb., 1981. She married Grant Colbree and according to the Social Security Death Indes, their last residence was in Brattleboro, Vermont. If anyone has any information on the descendants of these people, sharing will be greatly appreciated. Most of them were born in or around Hampton Bays, Suffolk Co., NY.
