    3. I have a subscription to Ancestry.com and their indexes are not the best. If you do a soundex-type search you may find more references to your ancestor, but ther is no guarantee. I do find them useful, but the indexes can be error prone. Genealogy.com has some census information although their subscriptions are more expensive than Ancestry and their search engine is extremely cumbersome. Their library feature is useful. Guess this hasn't been too helpful, long-distance family history research is time-consuming & difficult but travel to the actual records is not feasible sometime. Sharon A. Pullen, C.A. However, when I do a "free" search, my ancestor is found only in their 1930 index. I have found already him in 1870, 1900, 1910 & 1920 and was searching to check their thouroughness. So I wonder about the completeness of their indexes. Does anyone have any experience with this? I enjoy using my local FHL but it is a very slow process!!
