    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jUB.2ACI/521.1.2.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Brenda, thank you, again. Are you referring to FindAGrave, on the Interment site? I tried it...and nothing. I am just beginning the "grave/death" search so I am rather ignorant in this area. I have pretty much "flushed" out all the players in my Hubbard line. Now, I have to substantiate a lot of my research with...documents, death dates, burial locations, etc. I do know that "my" Hubbard line ended up in Bayshore and many of them are buried in Oakwood Cemetery (I am awaiting a grave search). It is the "first" ancestor on Long Island, Benjamin Hubbard, who is proving to be one elusive "bugga". This guy moved around like a chess piece. He was born in Charlestown, MA, may have returned to England then back to the Americas possibly MA then Newport, RI. Eventually, he turns up living in Flushing in the 1650s...then he moved to Jamaica. Several clues lead me to believe that he may have died relatively young. Also, he may have been an anabaptist because I can not find a defi! nite birth record/baptism for son, Jeremiah. I have Jeremiah well documented (land transactions etc.). Jeremiah moved to Huntington in 1688 and the family eventually settled in Bayshore. Yes, you can answer a question for me. It appears that people were buried in church yards in the 1600s early 1700s. Is that the case and are these "burial sites" still in existence? In the course of my research, I have become familiar with the "other" three Hubbard lines on Long Island. My line is Benjamin Hubbard of Flushing/Jamaica, The other lines are Sgt. James Hubbard of Gravesend, Isaac Hubbard of Southold and possibly John Hubbard of Riverhead. On a Long Island Hiking site, I read about the White Pine Forest in East Hampton. Part of their sales pitch was, "visit the grave of young Benjamin Hubbard". Is this an old burial site? Since they singled out the grave of Benjamin Hubbard, could it be possible that "one lone" grave is in White Pine Forest? I contacted them and they said the! y would try to help, but have not received a response. I am going to write the Suffolk Parks Dept, but I thought you might know. Thanks for your help, Brenda, and please stay in your kitchen and sip hot chocolate....the spring isn't that far off :). Geri
